PSPA declaration, New Beith

Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) due to an ongoing operation at New Beith.

The PSPA was declared at 2.20pm today (September 9) with the exclusion zone on Equestrian Drive.

Police were executing a search warrant at an address within the exclusion zone around 10.30am when a suspicious device was identified, resulting in the declaration.

Members of the public are advised to avoid the area and those within the exclusion zone are asked to remain indoors until further notice.
