Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in Bribie Island this morning as police respond to a serious incident.
Officers were called to a residence in Kelliher Street, Rothwell around 8am today following reports of a serious assault.
Officers tracked a vehicle of interest to Bribie Island where the PSPA was declared at 10.45am.
The PSPA encompasses Bigmulys St, Sylvan Beach Esplanade, Elkhorn Avenue and Eucalyptus St.
Specialist police are on scene and members of the community are asked to avoid the area as they respond.
