PSPA Emergency Declaration Declaration At Toowoomba

Police have declared an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in Newtown this afternoon, October 11, following reports of an armed person at a property near Anzac Avenue and Wombyra Street.

An emergency situation was declared just after 3pm, and an exclusion zone has been established with boundaries encompassing Hursley Road, Anzac Avenue, Wombyra Street, Edith Street and Holberton Street.

Members of the public are advised to avoid the area and those within the exclusion zone are asked to remain indoors until further notice.

Traffic diversions are in place.
