PSPA Emergency Declaration Declaration At Hervey Bay

Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) for Hervey Bay this morning, March 9, in relation to flash flooding.

Emergency services have been called to multiple reports of motorists stuck in floodwater and floodwater impacting homes.

An emergency declaration was made at approximately 9.35am, with an exclusion zone in place including the Hervey Bay police division (map below).

Police are urging members of the public and motorists within the emergency declaration area to shelter indoors now and do not drive unless necessary. If it's flooded, forget it.
