PSPA Emergency Declaration Declaration, Urangan

Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) in relation to an incident taking place at Urangan.

Shortly before 3am this morning, police attended a Hood Street address in relation to a welfare check.

Upon arrival, police began negotiations with a male resident at the address.

An emergency situation was declared around 4.30am, with boundaries encompassing Hood Street, Esplanade, Marine Court and Pulgul Street.

Members of the public are advised to avoid the area and those within the exclusion zone are asked to remain indoors until further notice.

Traffic diversions are in place.
