PSPA Emergency Lifted at Hervey Bay

Police have revoked the emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) following an incident in Urangan overnight.

Police were called to a Boat Harbour Drive property around 12pm on Monday following reports a man armed with a knife was making threats.

A PSPA was subsequently declared around 6.30pm with an exclusion zone encompassing Boat Harbour Drive, Lavell Street, Hammond Street and Toni Street.

Police have increased the exclusion zone in Urangan following the declaration of an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) yesterday, August 19.

Around 6.44am, a man was taken into custody and transported to hospital with a non life threatening injury and is assisting police with inquiries.
