Public appeal: Motorcycle crash, Cornubia

Police are appealing for a motorcyclist to come forward as part of the investigation into a fatal crash at Cornubia on Tuesday July 20.

Investigations indicate that just after 9.30pm, a motorcyclist was travelling along Mount Cotton Road when he lost control, hit a culvert and was thrown from the motorcycle.

A 31-year-old Cedar Vale man died at the scene.

Subsequent investigations indicate that a second motorcyclist who was known to the victim was travelling in convoy with him at the time, but left the scene of the crash prior to police arrival.

Police are now urging this man to come forward.

The Forensic Crash Unit has released vision of the two motorcyclists together at a nearby Cornubia service station, and the intersection of Logandale and Beenleigh Redland Bay Road, just prior to the crash.
