Public Invited to Discuss Mamre Road Precinct Changes

NSW Gov

The NSW Government is seeking community feedback on road widening works to help drive progress in the Mamre Road Precinct and attract investment and business growth to support up to 17,000 ongoing jobs.

The Mamre Road Precinct is 850 hectares of industrial land located within the Western Sydney Employment Area close to the new Western Sydney International Airport.

The site was rezoned in June 2020 to enable the development of the Precinct, with expectations that the land could accommodate approximately 17,000 ongoing jobs when fully developed.

Input is sought on an Explanation of Intended Effect (EIE) document which details proposed changes to the Industry and Employment State Environmental Planning Policy (SEPP).

The proposed changes would enable road widening upgrade works to take place which are pivotal to the development of the precinct.

It includes rezoning land to enable the widening of Abbotts Road and Aldington Road at Kemps Creek, and changes to the Land Reservation Acquisition Map to include new road corridors.

The Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has committed $23 million to Penrith City Council through the Accelerated Infrastructure Fund to fast-track land acquisitions to upgrade both roads.
