The Summit of the Future, scheduled to take place in September 2024, will deliver a Global Digital Compact that outlines a vision for an open, free and secure digital future for all, anchored in global cooperation for human development and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) progress, human rights and governance.
In this context, ESCWA held a high-level dialogue at the AFSD to discuss the Arab region's position in terms of policies and safeguards for promoting innovation and advanced digital technologies including artificial intelligence.
Discussions also focused on how to bridge the growing digital divide and addressed cooperation gaps between multiple stakeholders in the field of digital technology in the region.
