Push Bike Rider Seriously Injured In Crash At Fairfield

A push bike rider has been seriously injured after a crash in Sydney's south west.

About 3.40pm yesterday (Monday 24 February 2025), emergency services responded to reports of a crash between a push bike rider and a motor vehicle at the intersection of Sackville Street and Hamilton Road, Fairfield.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the push bike rider – a 63-year-old man – at the scene before he was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command were informed that the vehicle left the scene following the crash.

A crime scene was established before the scene was examined by specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit.

Following inquiries a 69-year-old woman was arrested at a home in Fairfield at 6.40pm and taken to Fairfield Police Station.

A vehicle at the home has been seized for forensic examination.

The woman was released from police custody pending further inquiries.
