Qantas Group Board Changes

The Qantas Group has today announced the appointment of Dion Weisler as an independent Non-Executive Director, in line with its commitment to renew its Board.

Mr Weisler, who will join the Board effective today, has extensive global and Australian experience most recently as President and CEO of HP Inc, a US Fortune 100 business. He is currently a Non-Executive Director of BHP, Thermo Fisher Scientific and Intel Corporation.

Qantas Group Chairman John Mullen said bringing in someone with Mr Weisler's international and technology experience will add to the diverse backgrounds of the other Directors.

"One of the key actions we committed to following a review of key governance matters last year was continuing to expand the Board's skillset to add to the depth and breadth of experience required," Mr Mullen said.

"Dion will bring immense value to Qantas as we accelerate our investment in digital improvements across our business while navigating the risks and opportunities posed by AI, cyber threats and increasing global connectivity."

Mr Weisler said: "It's exciting to be joining an iconic Australian company and an organisation I know well as a customer, at a time of significant opportunity and innovation in aviation, an industry close to my heart.

"Qantas has a clear vision and commitment to ensure customers and people are at the core of every decision, and I'm looking forward to helping them deliver on that, as well as the expectations of our shareholders and partners."

Shareholders will vote on Mr Weisler's position on the Board at the Qantas Group 2025 Annual General Meeting on 7 November 2025.

"In further board renewal, Todd Sampson informed me that he will retire on 30 July 2025 after more than a decade of service. His guidance and insights have been deeply appreciated by the Board and executive team during one of the most challenging periods in airline history," Mr Mullen added.

"On behalf of the Board, I'd like to express our gratitude to Todd for his contributions over the past ten years.

"With a significantly refreshed board and executive team in place, Qantas is in a strong position to deliver for its customers, people and shareholders, and regain its place as one of Australia's most trusted brands."

These changes will mean five of the seven non-executive members on the Board moving forward will have joined since May 2023.
