The Minister for Police and Community Safety, the Hon. Mark Ryan MP, and the Acting Commissioner for Police, Shane Chelepy, have today officially opened the newly constructed Dayboro Police Station, representing a significant investment in enhancing police services and community safety across the state. The new $7.35 million Dayboro Police Station is designed to meet the growing demands of the Dayboro community. The station will accommodate eight general duties officers, an officer in charge and one administration officer, ensuring the station will continue to effectively serve the community. The station services an area spanning approximately 400 square kilometres, covering key locations such as Dayboro, King Scrub, Ocean View, Mount Pleasant, Laceys Creek, Samsonvale, Kobble Creek, Mount Samson, Cedar Creek and sections of Clear Mountain, Cashmere and Kurwongbah. The previous Dayboro Police Station was built in 1961, replacing the original structure, which dated back to 1911. Today's opening marks a new chapter in the station's history, providing state-of-the-art facilities to assist officers in their vital work. The opening of the new station highlights the QPS' focus on providing modern, well-resourced policing infrastructure to meet the needs of growing communities across the state.
