The 2023 State Election presents Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council with an opportunity to encourage candidates to consider offering their support for a range of priority projects important to the people of Queanbeyan-Palerang. The following list of projects has been endorsed by Council.
Finalise sealing of Nerriga Road
Upgrades to Nerriga Road aim to provide a higher mass limit route, particularly for freight, from Nowra to the Kings Highway at Braidwood. Several sections of the road have been sealed over recent years. A remaining section near Nerriga village remains unsealed.

Regional Sports Complex Stage 2
Construction of an indoor sports centre at the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Sports Complex located at Jerrabomberra. The centre would include four indoor sports courts, allied health and support rooms.

Bungendore Flood Mitigation Strategy Stage 2
Stage 2 of the Bungendore Flood Mitigation Strategy involves upgrading the existing Turallo Terrace levee to reduce the impacts of flooding on residents and road users. The improved levee allows floodwaters to bypass the Tarago Road bridge during flood events.

Queanbeyan Sewage Treatment Plant Upgrade
The Queanbeyan Sewage Treatment Plant was constructed in the mid-1930s and is no longer fit-for-purpose. A significant works program is required to address issues including structural failure, equipment obsolescence, maintenance and work health and safety issues, as well as bring the treatment process in line with modern practices.

Bungendore Pool
Design and construct a new eight-lane, 25m, outdoor heated pool at the Bungendore Sports Hub.

Braidwood Depot Relocation
The relocation of the Braidwood Depot to a semi-industrial area freeing up valuable space in the Braidwood CBD for public car parking.

Monaro Street Upgrade
Upgrading the main street of Queanbeyan. This project will replace aged in-ground infrastructure and improve pedestrian and vehicle movement in the Queanbeyan CBD.
