PraxisAuril Knowledge Exchange Award
Maggie Inchley from the School of the Arts at Queen Mary University of London, won the PraxisAuril Knowledge Exchange Award in the category Innovation in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion through Knowledge Exchange.
Maggie's project, The Verbatim Formula, is a groundbreaking participatory research initiative that uses verbatim theatre techniques to engage care-experienced young people. By creating a platform for listening and dialogue, this project has brought together young people, care leavers, social workers, and universities in a transformative exchange of ideas.
Through arts workshops at universities and venues, and the innovative 'Portable Testimony Service,' The Verbatim Formula is helping adults listen to young people more effectively. The project has made an impact across a range of settings, including the Department for Education, the Office for Students, and City Hall.
Maggie commented:
""I am delighted to receive this recognition on behalf of The Verbatim Formula. This project represents the power of collaboration—where the voices of young people in the UK care system are not just heard but valued for their capacity to contribute to social and systemic change."
