The one-off Queen's Memorial Public Holiday on Thursday, September 22 has forced a number of changes to Sunshine Coast Council services and operations.
Council's Ordinary Meeting has been re-scheduled to Wednesday, September 21, and will be held at the Caloundra Chambers at 1 Omrah Avenue, from 9am.
This meeting will also be accessible via video livestream on the day.
Kerbside waste and recycling collections will continue as per the normal schedule, including the public holiday. Council's Resource Recovery Centres will also remain open. Check council's website for operating hours for all of council's waste and resource recovery centres.
Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Gardens will remain open from 7am-5pm on the Queen's Memorial Public Holiday.
However a number of council services will be closed to honour the Queen's Memorial Public Holiday on Thursday, September 22 and reopen the following day:
- Council's Customer Contact counters and reception desks
- Council's Development counter at Maroochydore
- Sunshine Coast Libraries and the Mobile Library service.
- Sunshine Coast Galleries.
- The Sippy Creek Animal Pound
- Bankfoot House and council museums.
- Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve Discovery Centre.
Holiday Parks, Lifeguard Services and public amenity cleaning services will remain in service through the public holiday.
Residents are encouraged to check their local aquatic centre's web page or social media page for opening hours on the Queen's Memorial Public Holiday.
Council's after-hours emergency call centre will continue to operate 24 hours a day via the customer service number 54757272.
