Queensland craft beer company
launches an Australian-first
Queensland's Ballistic Beer Co has launched Low Ha Low Carb Pale that is destined to turn the Australian craft beer world on its frothy head.
Only 2.2 carbs, 100 calories, in a can, Ballistic claim Low Ha is Australia's first low carb craft beer.
From the team that created the popular Hawaiian Haze, Ballistics' new Low Ha is a bright, easy going, full flavoured Aussie Pale Ale. With a full malt body and a lively fruity aroma – it is low carb with real taste.
Queenslanders get to try it now, ahead of the rest of the country - it won't be launched nationally for a few months.
"Low Ha has been six months in development and testing," says Lachy Crothers, Ballistic Beer Co's Head Brewer. "It is a bright, hoppy ale that we've crafted to be full-bodied and full-flavoured - but not so full of carbs."
"If you didn't know this is low carb – you wouldn't know," Lachy says. "It's a craft beer connoisseur's low carb brew. It's a crisp and beautifully balanced pale ale, full-bodied and full-flavoured, that respectably tickles the scales at 4% abv…while being Keto friendly."
Sensibly cheeky, it is a dream for anyone on a "lock down" low carb diet - and for craft beer drinkers who appreciate premium, full flavoured, Queensland-brewed beer.
Founded in 2015 in an old WWII munitions factory in the Brisbane suburb of Salisbury, Ballistic is now well on the way to becoming the biggest independent brewery in Queensland.
Its venues pride themselves on being family-friendly and it has a history of making interesting full-flavoured, hoppy pale ales, like Hawaiian Haze (number six in the 2020 GABS Hottest 100 beers). And Low Ha is no exception.
With top notes of citrus, mango and berries, a full-flavoured, toasty malt character with delicate hop bitterness and a refreshing dry finish.
Low Ha comes in a bright, sunny yellow 375ml can and has hit the shelves this week in all of Queensland's Dan Murphy stores, liquor stores, on premise and Ballistic's own venues in Salisbury, Springfield, West End, Bargara and Whitsundays.
Ballistic Beer Co
Ballistic Beer Co beers are brewed in small batches in Queensland to ensure their freshness. Its Pale Ales, Lagers, IPAs, Sours and special releases have taken out five places in the GABS (Great Australian Beer Spectacular) Hottest Countdown of 2020 as voted by Australians.
