Queensland's Manufacturing Minister Glenn Butcher will promote Queensland's thriving manufacturing sector at the Australian Manufacturing Week showcase, running from Wednesday 17 April until Friday 19 April in Sydney.
Six Queensland manufacturers are among the more than 250 manufacturers showcasing at the event, demonstrating why Queensland is the place to manufacture in Australia.
Australian Manufacturing Week attracts innovators and technology specialists from around the world, and the event serves as a vital networking and professional development opportunity for anyone working in the sector.
The Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water is supporting East West Lighting and Linked Group Services from Mackay, Lixia from Townsville, Weltrade Pty Ltd from Southport, Neumann Contractors from Currumbin and Griffith University's ADaPT from the Gold Coast to exhibit as part of the Queensland Government stand.
Queensland's stand will feature a giant LED 'curtain' manufactured by Yatala-based digital display innovators Simtech, and samples from Brisbane's master manufacturer of gourmet ice-creams and sorbets – and Ekka favourites – Lick Ice Cream.
The Queensland Government will sponsor the opening breakfast event (17 April), hosted by peak national body for the manufacturing sector, Australian Manufacturing Technology Institute Limited (AMTIL).
The Queensland Government will also host a networking breakfast on the closing day of the event (19 April) at the Australian National Maritime Museum, bringing leading businesses together with attending Queensland manufacturers to foster new connections and opportunities, as they celebrate the third and final day of the 2024 exhibition.
