- Queensland Rail employees have performed an 'un-fur-gettable' rescue of a small dog that jumped onto the tracks.
- The incident occurred at Boondall station just after 8am on Wednesday 29 January.
- A train guard, following all safety protocols, entered the rail corridor, scooped up the dog and handed it back to its owner.
'Snoopy' is safe, sound and back into the arms of its loved ones after barking up the wrong tree and ending up on train tracks at Boondall station.
CCTV footage captures the heart stopping moment the small dog escaped from its owner, running into the station and onto the platform before jumping onto the tracks.
An eagle-eyed Queensland Rail train driver, who was approaching the station, didn't 'paws' to act - immediately slowing down then stopping the train and, following all safety procedures, called for an authority from train control to get permission to enter the rail corridor.
The train's guard then exited the train, safely scooping up the pooch and handing 'Snoopy' back to its concerned owner.
Queensland Rail's employees were praised by onlookers, with one saying on social media "Thanks to the patience and professionalism of QR staff, all ended happily for the dog."
As stated by Queensland Rail Head of South East Queensland Neil Backer:
"We are extremely proud of all our employees, both train crew and station staff, who acted quickly and safely in order to rescue this adventurous pup.
"Safety is our number one priority at Queensland Rail and we have strict procedures in place before our employees can enter the rail corridor.
"We are pleased this was a happy 'tail' for 'Snoopy' and we hope there's some dog treats and a well-earned rest after this big adventure!
"We want to remind our customers that the rail network is not a safe place for pets to be so please leave them at home - unless of course you have a guide, hearing or assistance dog."
