Queensland's First FamilyLinQ Hub Opens in Logan

A first of its kind health, education, training and community hub has opened at a Logan state school.

Deputy Premier and State Member for Woodridge Cameron Dick officially opened the FamilyLinQ hub on Friday.

In collaboration with The Bryan Foundation, Metro South Hospital and Health Service, Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service, and local health and community service providers, FamilyLinQ offerings will be tailored to community needs.

FamilyLinQ will play a central role in school community life providing safe, welcoming and inclusive spaces with a clear focus on improving life, health and educational outcomes for children and their families, including future students of the schools, parents, carers, siblings and other family members.

The state-of-the-art hub includes; consulting rooms for specialist health services, a first aid room, offices and an outdoor staff space, reception area, meeting and conference rooms, amenities and two learning spaces.

At no cost to local families, the school-based FamilyLinQ hub will enable greater access to essential support services and integrate education, health and the needs of the school community at one location.

The Miles Labor Government's $500 million Putting Queensland Kids First plan will continue to rollout initiatives like this across the State.

The plan will set our youngest Queenslanders on positive and healthy pathways and empower families to build the best foundations for their children at every stage of life through partnering with community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations, improving the health of babies and children and offering wrap around services for families.

As stated by Deputy Premier and State Member for Woodridge Cameron Dick:
