What does the RACS Trauma Committee do:
The RACS Trauma Committee is responsible for coordinating activities that support efforts to reduce the effects from injury, by both optimal care of injured patients and community based prevention initiatives. The goal is to maintain the highest standards of care in trauma surgery in its broadest sense using an integrated and cooperative approach with other organisations to achieve the best possible outcome for the trauma patient.

There are six vacancies and we are looking for members to join the committee who have expertise in the following:
Trauma quality improvement
Road safety policy and advocacy
Trauma research
Trauma rehabilitation
Two representatives from Aotearoa New Zealand
Members do not have to be Fellows of RACS and we would encourage you to forward this information to any of your colleagues who have expertise and an interest in these areas. Individuals can apply for more than one of the EOI positions.
What is the commitment of a committee member:
Committee members can expect a commitment of four meetings annually. These meetings are conducted online (February and August) and face-to-face (May and November). Between meetings, members may be involved in subprojects. Members will be appointed for a three year term and will be eligible for re-election, subject to a maximum tenure of nine years.
