RACV Sponsors Test Drives at Melbourne Electric SUV Expo

RACV

RACV will showcase its comprehensive range of energy products to suit Victorians' electric vehicle (EV) needs as a key sponsor of Melbourne's Future Drive Auto Electric SUV Expo this weekend. The expo opens at 11:00am Friday 9 August at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and will run until Sunday 11 August 2024. More than 15,000 attendees are expected at the event over three days.

RACV will display its end-to-end EV solutions across solar, home and commercial charging, motor financing and insurance, as well as its roadside assistance offering.

RACV joins the SUV-focused event as official test drive sponsor, with more than 20 of the latest electric and hybrid SUVs available to test drive around a mapped course of Melbourne's CBD. RACV Members will be able to access an express line to test drive the vehicles, as well as discounted entry tickets.

RACV's General Manager Energy Greg Edye said he's excited to see the focus on EVs increasing.

"Data shared by the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries shows that the past year has been the best yet for EV sales. Combined EV and plug-in hybrid sales have increased by 25 per cent between the 2023 and 2024 financial years, with these vehicles accounting for nine per cent of all new vehicle sales to June 2024," Mr Edye said.

"RACV is helping make the move to EVs easy and has expanded its offering to include EV financing and insurance, as well as providing home EV charging installations, and home solar.

"We're proud to be a major sponsor of the expo and we look forward to speaking with attendees about how we can best support their EV needs."

The three-day event will include presentations by experts from the industry, including RACV's Home and Commercial EV Charging Product Manager, Rohan Smith presenting on EV charging options at home.

RACV Members attending the expo can visit the EV24 stand to take advantage of an RACV Solar offer to save $750 on eligible solar systems.
