Raptor Squad Charges Man After Greenacre Pursuit

Raptor Squad officers have charged a man following a pursuit through Greenacre overnight.

About 8.15pm yesterday (Sunday 18 August 2024), State Crime Command's Raptor Squad were patrolling the Greenacre area before locating a Toyota Corolla driving dangerously.

Police directed the driver to stop; however, when they allegedly failed to do so, a pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit continued for several minutes before it was terminated on Maiden Street due to safety concerns.

Following inquiries, police arrested the driver, a 24-year-old man, a short time later at a home on Valencia Street, Greenacre, after police located the vehicle in the driveway.

He was taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, drive recklessly/furiously and breach of bail.

The man was refused bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court today (Monday 19 August 2024).
