Raptor Squad Charges Man, Finds $1M Cash, Drugs

Raptor Squad officers have charged a man following the discovery of more than $1 million in cash and prohibited drugs under Strike Force Meadow.

Strike Force Meadow was established by State Crime Command's Raptor Squad South to investigate the alleged drug supply activities of a 50-year-old man throughout the Illawarra.

Following extensive inquiries, about 7am yesterday (Thursday 6 February 2025), Raptor Squad South executed a search warrant in Cordeaux Heights.

During a search of the home, police located $228,050 cash, 434 grams of cannabis, 26 grams of cocaine, drug packaging, scales and nunchaku.

Inside a roof cavity police located a further $820,000 cash in two large bags.

A 50-year-old man was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where he was charged with deal with property proceeds of crime => $100000, supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis, supply prohibited drug >small & <=indictable quantity, and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court today (Friday 7 February 2025).
