Raptor Squad have charged two men for their alleged involvement in a criminal syndicate involved in firearm and drug supply under Strike Force Murraguldrie.
Strike Force Murraguldrie was established by State Crime Command's Raptor Squad in October 2023 to investigate the drug supply activities of a 36-year-old man and his associates in the greater Sydney area.
Following extensive inquiries, from 6am yesterday (Wednesday 17 April 2024), strike force detectives – with assistance from Central Metropolitan Region ODIN and the Public Order & Riot Squad – executed six search warrants in Liverpool, Maroubra, Eastlakes, and Rhodes.
At an address in Liverpool, police arrested a 21-year-old man. He was taken to Liverpool Police Station, where he was charged with 14 offences, including 12 drug-supply related offences, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime and fail to comply digital evidence access order direction.
He was refused bail to appear in Liverpool Local Court today (Thursday 18 April 2024).
Just before 8am, strike force police arrested a 36-year-old man at the Eastlakes search warrant. He was taken to Mascot Police Station, where he was charged with 14 offences; seven relating to drug-supply offences, and the other seven for firearm supply offences including unlawfully sell firearms three times or more within 12 months.
The man was refused bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court today.
During the searches, police located and seized approximately $500,000 in cash, a rifle, pistol, ammunition, flick knife, prohibited drugs, and electronics relevant to their investigations.
All items were seized to undergo further forensic examination.
Inquiries under Strike Force Murraguldrie continue, with further arrests expected.
