Bushfire warning level: ADVICE
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) advises there is a bushfire burning between Woodenbong in northern New South Wales and Mount Barney, and conditions could get worse.
Residents in Rathdowney and surrounding areas are advised to keep up to date and decide what actions you will take if the situation changes.
Currently as at 4.25pm, Tuesday 12 November a very large bushfire is travelling in a northerly direction from Mount Nothofague National Park and Mount Barney.
Queensland Police Service (QPS) has closed the Mount Lindsey Highway south of Rathdowney as a result of this fire.
People in the area will be affected by smoke which will reduce visibility and air quality.
Properties are not under direct threat at this time.
A separate warning has been issued for Barney View and Palen Creek.
Call Triple Zero (000) immediately if you believe you or your property is under threat.
