U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr. traveled to Peru Oct. 11-12 to deepen close and enduring cooperation between the U.S. and Peruvian Air Forces.
During the visit, Brown met with Peruvian Air Force Commanding General Alfonso Javier Artadi Saletti and Chief of Staff of the Peruvian Air Force Lt. Gen. Carlos Enrique Chávez Cateriano, demonstrating the importance of the bilateral defense relationship and the commitment of the U.S. Air Force to expanding cooperation between the services.
The leaders exchanged views on regional security challenges, with Brown emphasizing the importance of working together to counter illegal activities that threaten the sovereignty, environment, and resources of Peru and adversely impact the two nations' collective security.
The two sides also discussed Peru's defense modernization plans, opportunities for additional defense cooperation, and the need to create a collaborative environment to share information and ensure future interoperability.
