Upgrades to The Parkway Reserve in Caroline Springs have been completed, resulting in an accessible and fun recreational space for the community to gather.
City of Melton Mayor, Cr Steve Abboushi and Local Member for Kororoit Luba Grigorovitch MP officially opened the upgraded reserve on 19 December.
The $1.4 million upgrade was jointly funded by Melton City Council and the State Government through its Growing Suburbs Fund. Improvements include expansion of the existing play space with nature play elements and new equipment for kids to explore and enjoy. A new basketball court provides an activity space for older children and teens to come together and shoot some hoops.
Upgrades to footpaths allow for greater accessibility while improvements to grassed areas and picnic facilities provide welcoming spaces for residents to socialise or relax.
Improved landscaping features include increased tree canopy for shade and a diverse range of plants.
