Pollie Pedal Tasmania 2025 is underway, with the peloton setting out from Hagley Farm School today.
Since its inception in 2006, the event has covered more than 5,000km and raised $850,000 for vital diabetes programs and research.
Deputy Premier Guy Barnett started Pollie Pedal with Diabetes Australia in 2006, having participated in every one since.
"I have lived with type 1 diabetes since 1997 and have proudly been an ambassador for Diabetes Australia, advocating for people with diabetes and their families," the Deputy said.
"Pollie Pedal is something very close to my heart and I am excited to be taking part once again.
"This year we will be riding 300km through some of Tasmania's most beautiful landscapes all for a good cause.
"The Pollie Pedal is a big event on the calendar and something I encourage all Tasmanians to get behind.
"I would encourage all Tasmanians to get involved via donations, spectating or supporting as we get ready to pedal for diabetes!"
