The Tasmanian Government is celebrating the record-breaking occupancy figures for Tasmania's North West in February.
Minister for Hospitality and Small Business, Jane Howlett, said the Tasmanian Hospitality Association's Hotel Occupancy Report for February showed robust occupancy for the accommodation sector right across the State.
"These high rates of occupancy are fantastic news for Tasmania's economy and reflects the efforts that have been put into encouraging people to visit our great State and supporting the sector," Minister Howlett said.
"We've worked hard through strong and consistent support of our visitor economy to encourage people to come and see what we have to offer."
In February 2025 occupancy was 90.25 per cent in the North West, while statewide the rate reached 89.53 per cent, the third highest on record.
The summer quarter (December to February) recorded an occupancy rate of 82.97 per cent, rivalling pre-pandemic highs.
"Our Government remains committed to bringing visitors back to the State through supporting programs like the Business Events Attraction Fund," Minister Howlett said.
"Tourism Tasmania continues to promote Tasmania as a unique winter destination through their 'Off Season' marketing campaign.
"Our Government is also offering the Regional Tourism Development Loan Scheme to promote investment in tourism products and experiences that stimulate regional tourism and dispersal.
"Through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future we are continuing to engage with the hospitality and small business sector to help these businesses to grow, invest and create jobs."
