A second nationwide recruitment campaign is underway for more child safety workers in Tasmania.
Minister for Children and Youth, Roger Jaensch, said the Make A Difference campaign is about attracting people who want to make a difference in the lives of Tasmanian young people and their families.
"Following the success of last year's child safety recruitment drive, we have re-launched the campaign, aiming to attract another group of workers," Minister Jaensch said.
"Last year's campaign resulted in the recruitment of 32 new employees, including 9 Child Safety Officers for the North West.
"This has helped to ease workloads and improve support to children, young people, and their families in the child safety system, statewide.
"The nationwide recruitment campaign seeks to attract individuals who are passionate about positively impacting the lives of children, young people, and their families.
"We are targeting both local and interstate candidates to join our child safety services across the South, North, and North West regions of Tasmania.
"The campaign is supported by the Tasmanian Government's $4.5 million package of incentives to recruit and retain Child Safety, and Advice and Referral Line employees, particularly in the North West region.
"The package for front line Child Safety and Advice and Referral Line employees, includes financial incentives and other strategies to attract and retain staff, including relocation support and new scholarship opportunities."
The 2025 campaign aims to recruit for the new After-Hours Service, the Child Safety Service, and the Strong Families Safe Kids Advice and Referral Line.
The safety and wellbeing of children and young people in Tasmania is a top priority for the Tasmanian Government.
