Campaspe Shire Council is excited to announce a recruitment drive for its Community Partnerships Team, seeking to bolster its ranks with passionate individuals committed to fostering community well-being and inclusivity. This initiative is part of an ongoing commitment to strengthen community bonds and address the diverse needs of local residents across the municipality.
Director Communities Jo Bradshaw said the Community Partnerships Team plays a pivotal role in facilitating meaningful connections between communities and local government.
"Community Development Officers work across the whole shire, encouraging people to be actively involved in creating connected and healthy communities where everyone feels they belong and can contribute.
"Our Community Development Officers work with local groups to advocate for the needs and concerns of these communities. The team facilitates connections and collaborates with community groups and organisations in various ways.
"Two recent examples of this have been the development of the Wirima Playspace at Rotary Park Rochester and Galyan Woka at Gunbower Lions Park – these projects were community driven and were initially supported by Community Development Officers to help these projects get off the ground."
As well as Community Development Officers, Ms Bradshaw is also recruiting for a Youth Officer and an Indigenous Liaison Officer.
"These roles are critical in our pursuit of enhancing community engagement and ensuring that the voices of our youth and Indigenous communities are heard and valued, whilst developing and implementing programs and initiatives to empower and involve them in the decision making that impacts their lives.
"We encourage individuals from various skill sets and industries to apply for these positions. Whether you have expertise in community development, social work, education, public relations, or any other relevant field, your unique skills and experiences are welcome.
"We are looking for passionate individuals who are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our residents.
"These are not solely Echuca based roles – our Community Partnerships team will be working on a rotational basis from all of our service centres including Kyabram, Rushworth, Rochester and Tongala, and often travel across the shire to meet with individuals and groups in our smaller towns too.
"We strongly encourage applications from individuals from all backgrounds, including those who may not have previous experience in government roles but are eager to contribute to our vibrant community," said Ms Bradshaw.
