The CTU supports a strong and well-functioning vocational education and training system, and believes that further work to support vocational education and training is needed.
However, the government's large-scale reforms are extreme and wasteful. As this submission outlines New Zealand needs stability and long-term thinking in our key institutions. We strongly oppose another fundamental restructure of the vocational education and training system, especially given the lack of evidence that has been marshalled in support of the proposed changes.
