Redmond Place Planning Proposal Update Session Set

Orange Council

Orange City Council and Landcom will hold a community drop-in session to provide information on the planning proposal for the new Redmond Place residential neighbourhood.

♦ In short: Members of the community are invited to attend a drop-in session to find out more about the Redmond Place planning proposal

♦ The information session will be held between 10am and 11.30am on Saturday 2 November at Orange Civic Theatre.

♦ What's next: The rezoning proposal is now on public exhibition for community comment until 12 November.

Members of the community are encouraged to attend the drop-in session between 10am and 11.30am on Saturday 2 November at Orange Civic Theatre to get a deeper understanding of the planning proposal and meet the project team.

The Master Plan sets out the plan to deliver about 330 homes with a mix of housing types that may include single dwellings, duplexes, townhouses, and low-rise apartments.

Orange Mayor Tony Mileto said the Master Plan included a requirement that a minimum of 20 per cent of the dwellings would be affordable housing.

"I encourage anyone interested in learning more about the project or having their say on the planning proposal to come along to the information session to gain a deeper understanding of the proposal and speak face-to-face with the team that will deliver the project," Cr Mileto said.

The Redmond Place precinct is the first to be accepted under the new state-led rezoning pathway for social and affordable housing, which aims to accelerate social and affordable housing rezoning proposals.

The rezoning proposal is now on public exhibition for community comment and will be assessed by the Department of Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure (NSW Government).

The public exhibition will close on Monday November 12, 2024.
