The annual Reef Snapshot has been published by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA), in partnership with the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) and CSIRO today (Wednesday 16 April).
The Snapshot provides a summary of conditions on the Great Barrier Reef throughout the 2024-25 summer, how these conditions impact coral and the actions underway to help coral reefs.
The Snapshot is based on the latest information available at the time of writing and sets the scene for the more comprehensive reports released later in the year such as AIMS' annual report on coral cover from its Long Term Monitoring Program, and reports from the Marine Monitoring Program managed by GBRMPA.
