Townsville City Council's annual Father's Day Memorial is back this Saturday from 8:30am to 10am at Belgian Gardens Cemetery.
Division three Councillor Ann-Maree Greaney said the memorial ahead of Father's Day was a special ceremony, providing a safe and inclusive space for the Townsville community to connect.
"At Council we are committed to offering opportunities that nurture connections between people and fostering a sense of belonging," Cr Greaney sad.
"Fostering a compassionate community is vital for our residents to find solace and build resilience as they navigate the path of grief.
"Events like the Father's Day Memorial allow us to unite as a community, offering support and comfort to one another throughout our grief journeys."
Councillor Greaney said the memorial would have several special touches for those attending.
"There will be words of reflection with Amanda Medill and soul music by the Townsville Guitar Orchestra as well as craft activities available in memory of loved ones," Cr Greaney said.
"Anyone attending will also receive a grave care pack and native plant to take home.
"I would like to extend my heartfelt invitation to anyone who carries the weight of loss to join us at this special event."
A light breakfast will be provided by Rotary Sunrise and Shelley Beans Coffee.
