A new $2 million cabin precinct has been completed at the Urunga Reflections Holiday Park to service increasing demand for high quality, sustainable holiday accommodation in the Coffs Coast Region.
The new cabin precinct includes seven, two-bedroom premium eco cabins with solar-power from East Coast Homes positioned to capture river views and provide a sense of being on an outdoor adventure. Green Construction Management Pty Ltd (GCM) delivered civil works, paths, carparking and services to each cabin to ensure a premium guest experience.
The new precinct lifts the number of cabins at the Urunga park to 29 and caters for families, people with disabilities and travellers with pets. The park upgrade comes hot on the heels of the release of the Reflection Group's 2030 Strategic Plan to boost regional tourism and economies by investing in park facilities, innovative accommodation, and new guest experiences.
Reflections Holiday Parks CEO Nick Baker said the expanded accommodation offering and the park's recent commendation as a 2022 Traveller's Choice location by online platform, Tripadvisor, encourages more visitors to stay, explore the town and support local businesses.
"We provide nature-driven escapes and Urunga, in its quiet coastal setting with nearby boardwalks, wetlands and scenic walks, is perfect for families looking to relax and recharge," Mr Baker said.
"As land managers of these parks for the people of NSW, providing a diverse range of accommodation and really lifting our parks so people can experience regional NSW with its unique stories, history, people and landscapes is incredibly important to us."
Minister for Lands and Water Kevin Anderson said the investment in quality accommodation on Crown land would help attract more visitors to Urunga, that will give the region a significant boost.
"The NSW Government recently announced $28 million in loan funding to support upgrades to Reflections Holiday Parks on Crown land and support the group's strategic plan to bolster regional tourism and economies," Mr Anderson said.
"Crown Lands and Reflections have also funded a soon to be completed Aboriginal yarning circle at the Morgo Street Reserve outside the Urunga park, as an educational centrepiece for the local Gumbaynggirr people, guests and community to share stories and cultural knowledge. A memorial plaque for Dr. Eric Dunn, a local icon and GP committed to the Urunga and Bellingen communities will also be erected as part of this initiative."
