Reflections Holidays has invested $1.5 million in seven luxe tiny homes - four at its North Haven park and three at its nearby Mylestom park - as traveller demand for the unique accommodation option continues to grow.
Occupancy rates across Reflections parks for the premium tiny homes are as high as 80 percent, with solo travellers and couples leading bookings for the stylish homes on wheels.
Despite their small proportions, the tiny homes hold big appeal, with mod-cons including a dishwasher, fridge, queen bed and stylish bathrooms, and each boasting a deck and outdoor setting to take in the surrounding nature.
Minister for Lands and Property and Minister for Small Business Steve Kamper said park infrastructure upgrades were being supported by the NSW Government with a $28 million loan to Reflections Holidays through Crown Lands, to support regional tourism and communities.
"Reflections Holidays operates holiday parks on Crown land reserves so it's great to see them delivering a range of accommodation for visitors who in turn spend in our regional communities," Mr Kamper said.
"Investment in affordable accommodation by Reflections Holidays supports families, the tourism industry and local small businesses including shops, cafes, restaurants, hotels, and tourism operators."
Reflections is investing in tiny homes as part of its strategy to enhance guest experience and to increase visitation to regional NSW which boosts tourism and supports small businesses.
CEO Nick Baker said the tiny homes were an attractive accommodation option because of their novelty and because, notwithstanding their small proportions, they offered huge value.
"The other terrific thing about our tiny homes is that we place them in areas of the park that flank bushland so you still feel that real connection to nature," Mr Baker said.
"All of the tiny homes have timber decks with table and chairs, so you can sit and have a cuppa, tune in to the local wildlife and switch off from your daily routine."
North Haven Park Manager Noel Goodyer said bookings for the new tiny homes were proving a popular addition at the dog-friendly park, which includes a diverse mix of camping options, from unpowered grass sites to budget-friendly and premium cabins.
"Choice is important and we really have something to meet the needs of every traveller," he said.
