Resources Victoria's regulator has issued a remedial notice to Daisy's Property Group, the operators of a quarry in Barongarook.
The remedial notice issued on 2 July related to excessive noise from the site. Daisy's Property Group is now required to develop a plan to manage and reduce noise at the site.
The notice is one of several issued to the quarry operator this year for a variety of concerns relating to buffer zones, dust and noise.
All operational activities at the quarry must meet the standards contained in the site's approved Work Plan. Operators must ensure they comply their regulatory and operational requirements.
Resources Victoria's Earth Resources Regulator oversees Victorian mines, petroleum and quarry sites to protect public safety, infrastructure and the environment.
Over the past 12 months, the Earth Resources Regulator has received numerous complaints about activities at the quarry and the impact on nearby properties and local infrastructure. The regulator is continuing to work with the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) and Colac Otway Shire Council to address these matters.
