Remains Found in Adrian Romeo Disappearance Probe

Detectives from the Homicide Squad can confirm human remains located at a Wildwood property are that of missing man Adrian Romeo.

Adrian was last seen by his family about 5.30pm on Saturday, 10 February 2024 at his home address in Craigieburn.

The 43-year-old had told his family he was going to visit associates in Greenvale.

He never returned and his family reported him missing on 12 February, 2024.

Adrian's disappearance was treated as suspicious and on 26 July, a 58-year-old Wallan man was charged with murder.

On 10 December, a 60-year-old Greenvale man and a 29-year-old Wallan man were arrested and charged with assist offender (murder).

The trio will face Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 24 February.

Detectives also undertook a number of searches at a Wildwood property between July and December last year in an effort to locate any trace of Adrian.

These searches also involved members from the Search and Rescue Squad, Water Police, Dog Squad, State Highway Patrol's Solo Unit, Vehicle Crime Squad, Hume Crime Investigation Unit and North West Metro Regional Crime Squad, as well as personnel from the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine, AFP and SES.

During searches on 27 November and 10 December, a number of items were located which were then subject to forensic analysis.

It has now been confirmed that those remains are those of Adrian and his family has been notified.

On Thursday 9 January, police undertook a further search of the Wildwood address however did not locate anything further.

The investigation remains ongoing.
