Renowned Australian Artist Rone Set To Captivate Perth

  • Rone art exhibition coming to Perth from 1 July to 30 September 2024
  • TIME RONE is exclusive to Perth in 2024
  • Expected to attract over 100,000 patrons to The Art Gallery of Western Australia
  • Supported by the Western Australian Government

Perth will soon welcome an immersive art exhibition by acclaimed street artist Rone, in the latest cultural event supported by the Western Australian Government.

Taking place from 1 July to 30 September at The Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA), Rone will bring the full installation of TIME RONE, a sell-out success during its Melbourne run in 2023, to Perth and create brand-new spaces specifically for the Western Australian exhibition, with two new mural works exclusive to Perth.

This exhibition is a global exclusive for Perth and will be Rone's only showcase in 2024, expected to attract over 100,000 patrons to AGWA.

The immersive art exhibition will take over 12 rooms at AGWA, across both floors in the historic Centenary Galleries Building.

Part immersive art installation and sensory engagement, TIME RONE will also include immersive dinners, a RONE store and a fully designed RONE-inspired bar space where visitors can linger amongst the art and dive into the RONE experience through several imaginative offerings.

The TIME RONE exhibition creates a new experience and will contribute to Western Australia's always-on, year-round calendar of diverse events, in alignment with the Western Australian Government's Vision for Dream Events.

Rone has previously painted murals in East Perth in 2018 and Bunbury in 2016.

As stated by Tourism Minister Rita Saffioti:

"Having these types of exhibitions is fantastic for our community, creating vibrancy and offering entertainment for locals and visitors.

"We're always on the lookout for diverse ranges of events across sports, music and the arts, and having TIME RONE will certainly be another drawcard for our year-round calendar.

"I definitely encourage Western Australians to head to AGWA to check out this fantastic exhibit, particularly as a great family activity during the July school holidays."

As stated by Culture and the Arts Minister David Templeman:

"Our government is so proud to be bringing world-renowned artist Rone exclusively to Western Australia, which is enormous for our arts and culture industry as well as our broader community.

"The TIME RONE exhibition adds to the growing list of new culture and arts events, such as RE//Perth and EverNow, and will be hosted within Perth's premiere cultural precinct.

"It is great to see acclaimed artist Rone bring this popular immersive exhibition to Perth, and this is a wonderful opportunity to utilise and showcase State-owned infrastructure, The Art Gallery of Western Australia."

As stated by Perth MLA John Carey:

"I've always wanted to see something exciting take place in the hidden spaces at the Art Gallery - this exhibition will be the perfect way to explore and experience the space in a unique way.

"Rone is known for his spectacular work at Flinders Street Station in Melbourne and if this exhibition is going to be anything like that, I can not wait."
