With the State Government announcement of Recovery 1, we are looking forward to welcoming our community back to our Libraries, Community Centres and Civic Centre. We are working through the process of opening each facility as soon as possible with measures in place to keep both our staff and the community safe. Services will need to be modified to ensure we meet the SA Health advice which includes limiting the number of customers in our buildings to 10 people at any one time (in addition to staff). Below is a summary of how we are progressively opening up our services.
CUSTOMER RELATIONS IN THE CIVIC CENTRE
The Civic Centre at 163 St Vincent Street will open today, from 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
Customer Relations Services
* Access will be from the Nile Street entrance, where people have good access to parking.
* Once we are comfortable we can manage the numbers of people and keep people safe we will open the St Vincent Street entrance as well.
* Front counter open for all transactions.
* Planning administration services is open for advice and support.
LIBRARIES
The Parks Library and Semaphore library are open to the public from 9.00am -5.00pm weekdays and 10.00am -2.00pm on Saturday. Port Adelaide, Enfield and Greenacres libraries will reopen at a later date, and we will let you know as soon as our safety procedures are in place here.
Library Services
* Customers can browse and borrow library items from the collection, and we aim to have public computers available as soon as possible.
* Click and Collect services will continue at Greenacres, Port Adelaide and the Parks libraries (call 8405 6540) and will also be available at Semaphore from Thursday 14 May.
* Access Home Library Service, Digital Library and Online Programs at http://cityofpae.evanced.info/signup
* Small quantities of printing and photocopying will be available, with limited cash payments accepted at this time
COMMUNITY CENTRES
Both Kilburn and Enfield Community Centres will progressively re-open to existing groups from today. Our staff are contacting group coordinators this week to make the necessary arrangements, and they will advise what activities, programs or groups can return from this week. Lefevre Community Stadium and The Lights will remain closed as they are recreation and sporting facilities, so SA Health restrictions are still in place.
Community Centre Services
* Groups, programs and activities which are low risk and can practice safe hygiene and physical distancing measures, and important for the health and wellbeing of our community (because they help people stay connected to others, learn new things, or provide important services) will all be able to return subject to liaison with Centre staff.
SAFETY PROVISIONS
The following will be put in place at all Facilities to meet SA Health Advice;
* Customer numbers will be limited to 10 people at any one time (in addition to staff).
* We will promote payments via electronic to minimise cash handling
* Signage and floor markers will remind people to observe social distancing and counters have safety screens in place.
* We will continue to practice good hand washing and hygiene.
* Hand sanitiser and washing facilities will be provided
* Higher level cleaning regimes will be in place including commonly touched surfaces being cleaned often
* Delivered items will be quarantined for at least 24 hours before being actioned.
* At our Community Centres cleaning kits will be available, and we expect each group to wipe down shared surfaces (ie tables, etc) before and after their activity.
* We will be encouraging visitors to download the COVIDSafe app or to record details to assist with contact tracing if required, however we will not require this information as a condition of entry.
