A rescue operation is underway after a car drove into the Parramatta River at the Greenwich a short time ago.
Emergency services were called to Manns Place about 4.15pm (Monday 14 April 2025), after a car accelerated through a car park, struck a woman standing on the riverbank, and entered the river.
The woman was rescued by passers-by who called emergency services.
She has been taken to Royal North Shore Hospital suffering a suspected broken ankle, bruises, abrasions and shock.
Officers attached to North Shore Police Area Command are being assisted at the scene by Water Police and the Dive Unit.
The vehicle is yet to be located and the driver remains unaccounted for.
