Council is seeking design ideas from the community to help renew six Baw Baw playgrounds ensuring our smallest community members and adults have a safe and enjoyable place to play.

Council's 2022/23 Playground Renewal Program will see up to $300,000 of total funding allocated towards renewing the play equipment at six sites:

  • Bloye Park, Drouin East
  • Baw Baw Visa Park, Drouin
  • Jacksons Track Playground, Jindivick
  • St Phillack Reserve, Rawson
  • Macarthur Park, Warragul
  • Ellen Close Park, Warragul

The scope of works and budget allocation for each park may vary based on the current playground equipment and the overall size of the area.

As part of the annual program, last year Council renewed the play equipment at multiple sites including Hackett Park in Longwarry, Drouin Recreation Reserve and Kiah Park in Warragul.

How the community can get involved

Council is asking residents if they and their little ones have any thoughts and preferences for new playground equipment at these six sites.

Community members of all ages are invited to submit their design ideas by Monday 12 September via the short survey on Council's website.

Quote attributable to Mayor Cr Michael Leaney

"Council's annual playground renewal program is a fantastic way for our community members, include the youngest ones to let us know if our playgrounds are hitting the mark.

As our community increasingly grows with more young families calling Baw Baw home, we need to make sure our playgrounds are catering to diverse needs.

I encourage all community members to let us know which equipment they love to use and what they would like to see, and I look forward to seeing the design ideas that we receive."
