Residents Encouraged To Report Potholes

Townsville City Council teams are hard at work across the city and suburbs repairing potholes caused by recent heavy rain, but they need your help.

Residents can do their part in making sure Council knows which potholes need repair by using the Snap Send Solve app, via Council's website or by calling 13 48 10.

Acting Mayor Ann-Maree Greaney said Council's teams had been proactively working on busy thoroughfares' potholes.

"There are a number of streets across Townsville that are known to be prone to potholes, like Sturt Street, North Shore Boulevard and Alligator Creek Road, to name just a few. The team has started working on these streets as a priority to ensure major potholes are fixed as soon as possible for our residents and visitors," Cr Greaney said.

"The best way to make sure our team knows where potholes are so they can get out and fix them as soon as possible is by reporting them to Council through the Snap Send Solve app, on Council's website or by calling our team on 13 48 10.

"There are a lot of potholes to repair, so we appreciate the community's patience as our teams work to get them fixed."

Council's mowing teams are also hard at work cutting grass across the city's parks and open spaces.

"Townsville has had perfect conditions for grass to grow quickly between high summer temperatures and plenty of rain. Our maintenance teams were able to have a break over Christmas and they're now back at work mowing our parks and open spaces," she said.

"The safety of our community and Council's staff members is paramount, so please drive carefully if you're going past our teams mowing and follow any street signage."
