Revamped Easy Tiger Set To Roar In St Helens

Tasmanian Government

One of St Helens' most popular social venues, Easy Tiger, has officially re-launched after a significant revamp supported by the Tasmanian Government, making sure it continues to be a key local attraction.

The region is already a hotspot for adventure and nature tourists, known for its game fishing, diving and spectacular beaches so the upgraded Easy Tiger is now making a visit even more memorable.

Premier and Minister for Tourism, Jeremy Rockliff said it was impressive to see the vision of Easy Tiger come to fruition.

"The bigger, better and more impressive Easy Tiger is an exciting boost to the St Helens hospitality scene with its enhanced micro-brewery, eateries, beer garden, live music and boutique cinema," Premier Rockliff said.

"Having already gained a strong following locally, the venue is now looking to become an even bigger drawcard for visitors to Tasmania's north-east coast region."

The redevelopment was supported by an almost $2 million low-interest loan through the Tourism Development Loan Scheme which promotes investments that boost regional tourism.

Premier Rockliff said regional tourism played an important role in local economies.

"We know that visitors are enjoying our regions for longer and they're spending more, with data showing visitors inject $3.5 billion to our economy each year," Premier Rockliff said.

"By backing ventures like Easy Tiger and the many other quality food and beverage establishments we have around the state, we are supporting tourism and recreation attractions so we can get more people out spending in more regions for longer.

"I have no doubt that Easy Tiger will become a major regional hub for visitors and locals alike.

"As part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future, we have launched a $50 million Regional Tourism Loan Scheme to continue backing regional businesses.

"Our Government is doing what matters for Tasmanians to keep our economy strong, create jobs and ensure our regions thrive."
