Police patrolling in Yarrambat on Sunday morning have located a ride share driver more than four times over the legal blood alcohol limit.
Officers observed the vehicle on Yan Yean Road driving erratically and crossing undivided centre road line on 19 December around 4.20am.
The vehicle was pulled over and it was found to be a ride share car carrying a passenger.
The driver returned a preliminary breath test and was taken to a police station where he returned an evidentiary breath test of 0.217.
The 50-year-old Craigieburn man had his licence suspended immediately and his vehicle impounded for 30 days at a cost of $895.
It is expected he will be charged on summons to appear in court at a later date.
This impound forms part of Operation Roadwise, a state-wide road policing operation during the high-risk Christmas period.
Police are targeting impaired driving, speed, distraction and fatigue in high-risk areas throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.
Operation Roadwise runs until 11.59pm Sunday 26 December 2021.
