The Sant Joan de Déu Health Park has inaugurated the new Centre for Research and Innovation in Emotional Health, RISE Center. Thirty researchers from the University of Barcelona are part of this project, which was created as a driving force for transformation in the approach to mental health in Catalonia. Its aim is to generate a knowledge hub to promote innovative tools and initiatives in this field.

The RISE Center headquarters is a 3,000 m² building equipped with the latest technologies. The construction project, carried out by PMMT Arquitectes, consisted of the refurbishment of a building with the aim of turning the space into a valuable component for the mental health ecosystem and favouring experiences consistent with the values and philosophy of the RISE Center. The building is conceived based on the commitment to healthy architecture with the use of Friendly Materials® and in accordance with the universal accessibility criteria guaranteed by the Clear Code Architecture® method.

The Sant Joan de Déu Health Park is currently ranked ninth in the world in mental health research, according to the H5 index. With the RISE Center initiative, it aims to promote a paradigm shift that will improve the quality of life of the people it serves.
