RMIT, Leidos Aviation Scholarship Applications Open

RMIT

RMIT will again partner with Leidos Australia to offer scholarships to students completing an aviation degree in 2025.

The program will be expanded to offer more than $150,000 across six scholarships, to bolster the pipeline of highly skilled aviation professionals in Australia.

Amber Kennett, who was among this year's inaugural scholarship recipients, undertook specialised flight training, site visits and mentorship opportunities.

"When I first started studying, I wasn't aware of the many different career paths that are available to me. The Leidos scholarship has really allowed me to consider other streams within the industry, as alternatives to airline flying," she said.

"The scholarship has also offered opportunities to connect with industry professionals and a range of experiences, including special mission training flights."

The scholarship is just one of RMIT's industry partnerships in aviation, ensuring students have greater study options, stronger skillsets and broader career pathways.

"We want to help address workforce challenges and futureproof the aviation industry, which is why we're ensuring RMIT graduates are ready for jobs in Australia and across the region," RMIT Aviation Academy Director Lea Vesic said.

"We're excited to further expand our investment in this important partnership with RMIT, which is ultimately an investment in our future aviators," Leidos Airborne Solutions Vice President James Woodhams said.
