Campbell Street and Pye Street in Swan Hill are set to get a major upgrade with works to reconstruct part of the road commencing on Monday, 1 March.
Funded through the Federal Governments Roads to Recovery Program the upgrades will include replacing existing kerb and channel, road pavement and drainage along with reconstruction of the roundabout on the corner of Campbell Street and Pye Street, to prevent future flooding in the area.
Swan Hill Rural Council's Director Infrastructure, Svetla Petkova said the works are expected to take approximately fourteen weeks to complete.
"Campbell Street between Nyah Road and Prichard Street and Pye Street between Beveridge Street and Curlewis Street will be closed at varies times during the fourteen week program," Ms Petkova said.
Ms Petkova said shop owners within the vicinity of the works have been contacted and arrangements have been made to allow for appropriate access to their buildings and shops.
"Council apologises for any inconvenience and urges motorists to exercise caution when driving in the area," she added.
