Council is pleased to advise that work is set to begin on the reconstruction of a 644-metre section of Station Street, Woorinen, from Woorinen Vinifera Road to Palmer Street.

Works will commence on Monday, 6 January 2025.

Council's Director Infrastructure, Leah Johnston said the project aimed to address several key issues, including poor pavement conditions, inadequate road width, overloaded kerb and channel stormwater flows, and high heavy vehicle usage.

"The safety of all road users is our top priority. This project will not only improve the quality of the road, but also ensure a safer and more efficient transport route for both local residents and heavy vehicles.

"A road closure will be in place during the works to ensure the safety of both workers and residents. However, residents will still have access via the back laneway, with pedestrian access also available," Ms Johnston said.

Ms Johnston said this project was a crucial step in improving road infrastructure and safety for the local community.
